When you have to send your computer back in connection with a complaint, it is important to package the computer securely. If you do not have the box the computer was delivered in, read the guidelines below.
The most important thing is that there is a distance between the computer itself and the box. It is not secure to pack the computer in a box that is just big enough for it but no more – even if you have wrapped it in a protective layer. This is not enough to protect a computer during delivery by a courier company.
You must use a box with a minimum of 1 and preferably 2 centimetres of space all around the computer when it is in the middle of the box. The computer must also be wrapped with extra protection so that it cannot slide around in the box. It can be paper towels or newspaper rolled into balls, but it is often easiest to use towels or tea towels to wrap the computer.
ATTENTION: Always make sure the computer is completely turned off before returning it. If you wrap it in, for example, a towel and it is in hibernate or sleep mode, static electricity can in very rare cases damage the computer.
If you are not able to or if you are uneasy about finding packaging material yourself, you can contact our technical support using the form on this page or at support@refurb.eu. They will be able to send packaging material for the small price of DKK 99.
