There are several ways you can transfer photos and videos from your iPhone to your MacBook.
Transfer photos from iPhone to Mac with a cable
Connect your iPhone to your Mac with a USB cable. Your iPhone will now appear on the left side of your 'Finder' (blue/white icon with a face on it). From here, you can click into your iPhone's storage space and "drag" the images you want onto your MacBook. Remember to disconnect your iPhone correctly by clicking on 'Eject'.
NOTE: MacBooks from 2016 onwards are not equipped with a USB 3.0 input. You must therefore use an adapter from USB 3.0 to USB-C.
Transfer photos from iPhone to Mac with AirDrop
If you want to be free of wires and have a newer MacBook (2016 or newer), AirDrop is a really good, fast function that is worth using.
You select the photos you would like to transfer from your iPhone to your MacBook. Then click on the sharing icon in the bottom left corner of your iPhone and select 'AirDrop'. Here you will find your Mac. If you have not previously connected the two devices, you will instead see the option to connect your MacBook and iPhone. This function requires the two devices to be connected – then the images are transferred with lightning speed.
